Beta Rays Brothers Celebrate Academic Success from the Past Semester W ith the start of the academic year, the men of Beta Sigma Psi returned to campus ambitious for the fall semester. We had three brothers graduating: Quinn Cook '18, Case Evanson '19, and Kevin Tarbet '18. Recruitment brought us eight new associate members, raising our total to 38 men. Beta Chapter was able to be involved more on campus this semester due to less restrictions. We are proud to have multiple members involved with our church through their officer positions, including Eli Ernst '19, who is serving as church president for his second year! Weekly Bible studies are held in the living room every Monday evening. Athletics was also a strong point, as we had teams compete in sand volleyball, flag football, and soccer. We were not able to host any philanthropy events this semester, but we were able to continue hosting skip-a-meals through local restaurants to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Classrooms somewhat returned to normalcy, and whether we sat at a computer screen or in front of a white board, we are proud to say our academics were still among the best on campus. Last semester, we had a cumulative Chapter GPA of 3.22 and a semester Chapter GPA of 3.31. These marks placed us within the top 10 houses on campus, with 12 brothers receiving semester honors and seven making the Dean's list! As my time serving as president is coming to an end, I want to extend our gratitude to each and every person who helped the actives this year. Whether it was as big as getting a project done at the Chapter House by donating or helping through physical labor, or something as small as stopping by the house to interact with the brothers, it means the world to us to see the amount of support you all give back to the actives. This year was tough, and thanks in large part to what you were all able to help us with, we were able to push through. Stay safe out there, and if you need anything, you know how to get into contact with us. Per Aspera Ad Astra. Yours in Christ, Richard Howey '20 Chapter President rhowey@purdue.edu Brothers and the new associate member class attend our first Beta Sig Sunday of the semester at University Lutheran.
