Paige Talken '20 se ng up one of our many carnival games during our philanthropy event, St. JudeWorld. v SISTERHOOD FLOURISHES The fall semester consisted of a successful primary recruitment with continuous open bidding, new member education and initiation. We welcomed 41 new members home to 1834 Laramie Street, with 10 of these women joining us through the COB process. We are happy to report that we are at chapter total and just initiated these new members into Theta Iota Chapter. Primary recruitment ran smoothly, even when faced with the scheduling challenge of recruiting during the first week of school. Our recruitment team, as well as every single one of our members, made the best of work week and recruitment week, which is the reason we were able to welcome so many amazing new women into this sisterhood! It has been a busy but amazing semester so far. In addition to our growing sisterhood, the ladies of Tri Delta have shown their resilience since the pandemic began. With classes going virtual and in-person learning being absent or minimal, sisters still manage to succeed. Last semester, our GPA was a 3.48, and our cumulate GPA was 3.51. v PHILANTHROPY FUN During the 2021-22 school year, Theta Iota Chapter is looking forward to achieving our fundraising goal of $80,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In September, we hosted St. JudeWorld in our front lawn, which raised $3,469! St. JudeWorld is an annual event we hold where guests pay $5 to eat and participate in our carnival and lawn games. In November, we hosted our annual Sincerely Yours stamping party in which sisters write letters to their friends and families asking for donations for St. Jude. We are hosted our Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP) event at the Chapter House, where we offered breakfast food and beverages on top of unlimited pancakes. This was a great way to wrap up the fall 2021 semester! v STAYING SOCIAL This semester has encapsulated many exciting social events. Our first date party of the year, referred to as "DeltaPalooza," was a success that ended with countless memories and colorful costumes! This year, the date party had an exciting twist where we hosted it at a local bowling alley in their blacklight cosmic room. We also had a mixer with the Delta Upsilon fraternity that was themed "Ballers vs. Scholars." This was a great way to get to know another Greek house on campus, and it was especially exciting for our 2021 pledge class to experience it so early in the year! Dad's Weekend was a delightful way to begin October and entailed a Tri Delta tailgate for the Oklahoma football game as well as a delicious Sunday brunch. It was so fun to have our dads in town for gamed ay! In the midst of our new members being initiated, we held a pumpkin painting sisterhood event at the house that was followed by a sisterhood sleepover for our 2020 and 2021 pledge classes! The entire house was invited to the pumpkin painting; it was filled with lots of laughter, karaoke and spooky treats made by our lovely housemother. Both the pumpkin painting and sleepover were wonderful bonding experiences full of sweet memories. Also, Theta Iota's semiformal took place and was nothing short of a magical winter wonderland! It was lovely gathering with sisters one last time before we head home for the holidays to spend time with our friends, family and loved ones. We've faced countless challenges since the pandemic began, but this semester has brought sweet, memorable moments that we will not soon forget. We anticipate an exciting spring semester, and we can't wait to share with you!
