He was initiated in 1941, drafted into the Navy during WWII, then returned to Rose Poly to finish his degree after the war. He was an avid outdoorsman and reader. Larry Leonard '52 entered Chapter Eternal on February 14, 2021. He was an Army veteran and a devout Christian. He retired from Union Carbide. Clyde Willian '52 entered Chapter Eternal on December 7, 2020. He was a patent attorney and served on the Rose-Hulman Board of Trustees. Rose-Hulman honored him with the Honor Alumni Award in 1978 and Honorary Doctorate in 1995. Donald Latham '53 entered Chapter Eternal on November 1, 2020. He was a retired bureau chief with District 5 of the Illinois Department of Transportation. Robert Travis '57 entered Chapter Eternal on December 16, 2020. He retired as general manager of CVN Industries in Greeneville, Tenn. James "Bama" Godwin Jr. '61 entered Chapter Eternal on May 7, 2021. He retired as CEO of Cella Barr Associates. While at Rose-Hulman, he played football and baseball (pitching a no-hitter), served as ATΩ secretary, and was president of his senior class. He survived and thrived despite having Guillain Barre Syndrome and Parkinson's Disease. John Hardesty '74 entered Chapter Eternal on January 9, 2021. He was a retired maintenance supervisor from International Paper and served as Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop #40 for many years. Steve Kennedy '81 entered Chapter Eternal on November 12, 2020. He was a triathlete and marathon runner. Steve co-founded two companies, was the CFO of two companies, and served as CEO of four companies. ALUMNI NEWS Randall Pfluger '78, Rick Stanley '78, and Rick's wife, Anna, completed the Hotter'N Hell Hundred bicycle event in Wichita Falls, Texas. It was the first time Rick and Randall have met up since graduation. Randall lives in Carrollton, Texas. He was Indiana Chamber of Commerce's 2021 Ogletree Deakins Business Leader of the Year. Ben Stone '18 won the USA Triathlon National Championship. He finished second in Ironman Wisconsin and won Ironman Indiana.
