A : Pretty much. She ob- viously had more time for "Jeopardy!" before going back into production on "Kat," which starts its second Fox season Jan. 9. The way she described it to us recently, she spends three weeks of a month on "Kat" and one on "Jeopardy!," but the lat- ter show can tape several episodes in one day and stockpile them for a run over several weeks. Bialik's "Jeopardy!" com- mitment (she and Ken Jen- nings will continue to split the syndication hosting duties for the rest of this television season) also involves hosting special editions for ABC, and she'll be doing that in Feb- ruary with a college-champi- onship edition that will air al- most nightly over two weeks. To give up a bit of TV magic, those shows already have been taped, slotted in for production when Bialik had the time for it given her "Kat" schedule. Q : Where has "Ordinary Joe" been? The show just suddenly disappeared. — Jeff Ryan, via email A : With the James Wolk-starring drama's highly serialized nature, NBC decided to give it a rest during the holiday period, us- ing that slot for seasonal spe- cials and tryout runs of new shows including "That's My Jam" and "American Auto." However, "Joe" will return to its Monday hour starting Jan. 3 to wrap up its season ... lasting until the network's coverage of the Winter Olym- pics begins in February. A : Fallon brought Higgins with him from "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" when he started the "Tonight" gig in 2014. Earlier, Higgins gained fame from the Comedy Cen- tral show "The Higgins Boys and Gruber," in which the title humor troupe starred. Higgins also is a writer who worked with Jon Stewart on the latter's MTV show, and he then became a writer-pro- ducer on "Saturday Night Live," a job he has retained even during his time as Fal- lon's on-air sidekick (winning a Primetime Emmy Award for that show in 2017).
