BY GEORGE DICKIE Do you have a favorite jailhouse break? If so, why? My favorite jailhouse break, the story, is of "The Great Escape," World War II, the airman that escaped from there. I don't think that people who get out of prison escape if they're caught and brought back. If you escape, you're gone. And "The Great Escape" a lot of those guys left. They were gone. They caught a lot of them, too. But most of the time when you break out of jail, you're going to get caught. You're not free. You didn't quite make it. You're often involved in presenting historical topics, in television for example. How important is history for you? We still have just an enormous amount of history that we don't know much about that's untold, hasn't been dealt with. I think this project, for instance, is one of those. People don't know about places like Alcatraz and Dannemora and Clinton, Cummings. They know about Shawshank. Mickey Donovan (Golden Globe winner Jon Voight) is in the wind, but Ray (Liev Schreiber) vows to do whatever it takes to find his volatile father and stop him before the old man can cause even more carnage.
