PROUD 150 PAGE 3 ASSISTING OUR PHIS AMOUNT FOR SCHOLARSHIPS $100,000 $200,000 $300,000 $400,000 $16,000 $12,000 $8,000 $4,000 AMOUNT ENDOWED W e asked you once before, and we are asking you again, to invest in the sustainability of the chapter house and our members. Our approach is twofold. The first is to assist MO Alpha Phis in their academic pursuits by establishing a chapter-specific scholarship. Additionally, we are asking for support for our existing MO Alpha Educational Housing Fund to bolster our reserve funds for ongoing maintenance and operations to support the educational spaces within the chapter house. With a substantial portion of our facility deemed educational, this will allow us to keep membership costs down. We have outlined the specifics of our plan to the right. We have established the MO Alpha Scholarship Fund at the Phi Delta Foundation to give chapter-specific scholarships to deserving MO Alpha Phis. The amount and size of individual scholarships will depend on the amount we raise. Our goal is to award scholarships of $2,000 annually to as many brothers as possible. You can see in the chart below that the more we fund, the more scholarships we can award. Missouri Alpha Scholarship Fund SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CRITERIA • Will reside in the chapter house for the upcoming academic year. • Has a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. • Good financial standing with the chapter and/or house corporation. • Good behavioral standing with the chapter. • Receive approval from the chapter advisory board chairman or province president. • Provide an unofficial transcript and resumé in addition to demonstrating financial need and/or leadership potential. Scholarship applications will be reviewed and awarded through the Phi Delta Theta Foundation Scholarship process. The first scholarship(s) will be awarded for the 2023-24 academic year after the initial endowment vests for 18 months. Missouri Alpha Educational Housing Fund After the completion of the renovation in 2015, we have worked diligently to keep our house on Burnam Street looking like the day we reopened our doors. By continuing to raise money into our educational housing fund at the Phi Delta Theta Foundation, we can apply funds to the ongoing operation and maintenance of the educational spaces of our home. This will ensure that we can keep our chapter house in pristine condition and limit raising expenses to the undergraduate men in the form of their capital improvement fees. "This campaign is critical to establish a legacy of meaningful scholarships that will impact decades of brothers to come. An offering such as this can be the key reason a recruit selects Phi Delta Theta. These scholarship opportunities will continue the culture of high achievement and personal development, which is essential for our brothers during their formative undergraduate years." –Tyler Alcorn '97, Campaign Co-Chairman
