Drake University has also made large renovations on campus, specifically in Dogtown and on University Avenue. e competition has increased, and we must again modernize and adapt our house to appeal to students today and in the future. Groups with recent renovations: • Phi Delta Theta – extensive interior renovation • Phi Gamma Delta – extensive interior and exterior renovations • Alpha Delta Pi – built entirely new house • Theta Chi – demolished old chapter house and rebuilt new with extensive changes • Sigma Alpha Epsilon – exterior renovations "Volunteering with the Iowa Delta undergraduate leadership has been the most rewarding way to stay involved with my community since graduating from Drake. The undergraduates that I get to work with at Iowa Delta are constantly looking for ways to improve their community and are always thinking about how they'll redefine what it means THETA CHI PHI GAMMA DELTA Financial Security Iowa Delta was not spared from the impacts of COVID-19. Since the onset of the pandemic, the Iowa Delta Alumni and Volunteer Corporation (AVC) has used its reserves to survive the loss of rent revenue. ough the AVC was able to utilize SigEp National Headquarters for financial aid over the past 19 months, debt servicing has begun as of September 2021, increasing the Chapter's financial burden. is is no fault of the Chapter but is the unfortunate reality of COVID-19. To ensure and sustain our future, we need the support of our loyal alumni to help us fund the Chapter's strategic priorities. Rising Costs Since our last campaign in 2006, the cost of attendance at Drake has increased by 101%. Students will pay nearly $46,000 for the 2021-22 academic year. We know this trend will continue to place increased financial strain on our members. According to the U.S. News & World Report: Over 70% of first-year students at Drake University receive need-based financial aid in the form of grants or scholarships. 60% of Drake students rely on student loans to pay for their school. e graduating class of 2020 at Drake University had an average student loan debt of $32,016.
