D elta Psi is thrilled to be back on campus and in the community doing in-person events! We started the fall semester off with recruitment, which was a huge success; it was wonderful to have everyone back together in the lodge. During recruitment, we had the chance to showcase our philanthropic efforts by presenting the money we raised for Lubbock's Children's Miracle Network. We are so thankful for the new chairs the House Board donated to the lodge (just in time to use for recruitment!). Abigail Alexander '18, our new member educator, did an outstanding job planning and coordinating leading up to Bid Day. Once Bid Day approached, everything went smoothly, and the sisters had a lovely time celebrating the new member class. e 2021 new member class has plenty to learn, but our active sisters are looking forward to getting to know them and sharing our values. So far, the new member class has had an engaging first semester with events, including mixers, new member meetings, and their new member retreat. As the semester continues, we are encouraging our sisters to prioritize their academics. In terms of GPA, Kappa is third out of all 12 sororities. We are so proud of our sisters for holding that ranking despite the uncertainties over the past year and a half. ey've certainly shown that they can overcome any challenge. Creating friendships and strengthening bonds are aspects of the sorority experience that we anticipate every year. Delta Psi held the philanthropy event, Kappa Kookout, at the Kappa lodge, and it was a resounding success! For Homecoming this year, we paired with Phi Delta eta to construct a float as well as practice our performance for the S.O. Sing competition. We also held our first date party with Tri Delta with a Luau theme. We always have a great time bonding with our organizations on campus, as well as the community, to get involved in any way we can. We look forward to an exciting year ahead with many memories to be made. It has been refreshing to get back to a place of normalcy and do the things we love with one another. We are looking forward to the rest of the events and activities we will do this semester.
