DDD page 5 I am pleased to say that Delta Xi has had an incredible fall semester so far. We had an extremely successful recruitment and are happy to announce that we have 69 new members joining our chapter. They were initiated on September 28 and 29, and we couldn't be happier to have these women in our sisterhood. Delta Xi is the leading chapter in philanthropy fundraisers out of all Greek chapters on the Mizzou campus. The women of Delta Xi participated in the fourth annual Lizzy's Walk of Faith 5K in September. At age 10, Lizzy Wampler bravely finished her battle with bone cancer. Her race against cancer ended too soon due to the need for a cure of Osteosarcoma. All proceeds from the 5K are donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Wampler family holds a special place in our hearts here in Columbia. Our chapter also hosted our annual fall philanthropy event, Triple Play, a softball tournament where fraternities and other organizations can create teams and pay to enter a competitive bracket. Our members had a lot of fun cheering the teams on, and all proceeds were donated to St. Jude, of course. We have our second fall philanthropy event, Sincerely Yours, approaching in November as well. Sincerely Yours is a letter-writing campaign where we send personal letters to family, friends, and alumnae to raise more money for the children of St. Jude. We want to thank all the alumnae who came to our open house in September; it was wonderful to show off our beautifully renovated home again. Delta Xi was also thankful to fully participate in Mizzou's Homecoming competition this year! We were paired with the men of Sigma Nu and spent countless hours diligently painting banners, pomping house decs, creating parade floats, completing service hours, and practicing for our "Fling" dance and skit performances at Jesse Hall. I admire my sisters' resiliency as we adjust back to a normal fall semester with in-person events and classes.
