O utside of her family, the Mississippi Beta Chapter and Pi Phi have had the biggest impact on Callie Rutherford '06 by helping her become the person she is today. Callie was able to grow as a leader in the chapter through the assistance and guidance of amazing Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC) members, role models and her sisters. "Mississippi Beta felt like home from the very first time I stepped inside," Callie said. "The girls were fun, friendly and made me feel welcomed." Since graduating, Callie found it hard to stay involved with Mississippi Beta all the way from Dallas, Texas. Luckily, she uses social media to keep up with the chapter by way of the chapter's Instagram® and alumnae Facebook® pages. Callie also stayed involved by joining the AAC at Texas Beta, becoming an active member of the Dallas, Texas, Alumnae Club and being a member of Pi Beta Phi Foundation's Finance Committee. Callie is also a contributor to the capital campaign. She knew her gift would help the members achieve the same experiences she did, such as the many nights she spent in the chapter house getting ready and bonding with her sisters. "I have a special place in my heart for Mississippi Beta," Callie said. "There are so many memories I have of eating lunch or dinner with my friends or being in the chapter room, and I hate to think of the current members not being able to experience that." Callie noticed that almost all of the other sororities on campus had updated their house's within the past few years, and she wanted Mississippi Beta to remain competitive. To do so, the house needed to be updated and SUPPORTING PI PHI'S LONG- STANDING VALUES Why Callie Rutherford Gives Back to the Sisterhood Callie Rutherford '06 with her Pi Phi sisters.
