DELTA CHI NEWS ALUMNI NEWSLETTER | OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY | FALL 2021 A NEW HOME FOR DELTA TAU DELTA Meeting Goals and Staying Strong I n 2020, our active members spent a year in the Pi Kappa Alpha house while we restored our Delta Chi Shelter, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our brothers have stunning new amenities (including study rooms, a fireplace, a bright orange pool table, and a spacious front porch) and are enjoying these updates while living comfortably. We planned this rebuild for over a decade, and it was very exciting to see it come together. It was truly spectacular to see 200 alumni, spouses, and friends come together for the Shelter dedication on September 4. I want to thank our co-chairmen, Vaughn Vennerberg '76 and Joe Eastin '92, generous donors, House Corporation Board, volunteers, and the many others who contributed their hard work to make this a success. Due to contributions from generous alumni, we are excited to announce that we have surpassed our fundraising goal. We are still accepting donations if you would like to leave your mark on Delta Chi and be a part of the campaign. We want to offer all alumni an opportunity to join their brothers, both in the celebration of fraternal bonds and on our donor wall, in shaping the future of our fraternity. The capital campaign is ending on December 31, 2021, but there is still time to participate. Every gift helps, no matter the size, and those who pledge $2,500 or more will have their names added to the donor wall. Secure your spot by making a pledge today! If you happen to be in Stillwater, we encourage you to stop by the new Shelter, check out the facility, and share your favorite Delta Chi memories. It's always nice to hear how Delta Tau Delta helped shape our alumni. Fraternally, Stephen E. Reel '70 Campaign Chairman (405) 615-8705 | stephenreel254@gmail.com Home Sweet Home What the Newly Dedicated Shelter Means to Brothers S ince the outstanding Shelter dedication this fall, the power and strength of Delta Tau Delta has been a prominent feeling around the halls of our new home. The Shelter is a beacon of vitality and progression for the men of this chapter. Making the walk back from our lovely campus and seeing our home cast a large shadow over University Circle is a constant reminder of the effort that made this project possi- ble from all parties—our donors, the men building and maintaining the house, and those who believed in this mission before any others. This great physical reminder of excellence also reminds us of what our goal as a chapter should be: to remind people of excellence when the words "Delta Tau Delta" are heard by anybody from our closest of peers to our harshest of critics. I am happy to report the chapter is continu- ally working toward this goal in multiple areas. We are holding new workshops and creating new programming to make strides in hazing prevention and awareness, risk management, academic achievement, and recruitment. The new Shelter is an aide in each of these areas and beyond. There is something special—something beyond explanation—about living in this new Shelter and what it does to the mindsets of our men. This project has made us better men already and will continue to do so as long as Delta Tau Delta stands firmly at the heart of University Circle. It is with Tanner Stark '22 and Blake Hornsby '22 present Delt at its best for fall recruitment. the deepest sincerity that we thank you for all your efforts; we look forward to every opportunity we get to welcome you, our brothers, home. Fraternally, Ryne Garrison '22 Chapter President
