ALPHA TAU OMEGA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI H FALL 2021 SHARING SUCCESSES In-Person Activities Restrengthen Brotherhood G amma Rho Chapter started the 2021-22 school year on a positive note. We look forward to a productive, healthy, and successful year. We continue to follow university and city guidelines regarding COVID-19, and we are pleased that we've kept our active members and House Director safe; we've had no positive cases since the semester started in August. With reduced COVID regulations allowing for more in-person activities, we hosted a successful alumni tailgate mid-September for the SEMO game. It was so gratifying to see familiar faces and gather once again. We look forward to more in-person events in the coming year! Despite classes alternating from in-person to virtual on various occasions, we are proud of our Taus for pushing through. Grades remain stellar with a spring 2021 GPA of 3.25 for the Chapter and a GPA of 3.3 for our new members. Gamma Rho welcomed 43 new members this fall semester; the house has 79 upstanding active members living in the house full time. We made it to the finals of True Merit last year, but we unfortunately fell short at the end. We took some good learnings away, and the Chapter executives vowed to overcome the shortfalls and achieve True Merit once again this year. We continue to be proud of our young men as they navigate their futures and be leaders on campus and in the Columbia community. Fraternally, Chuck Linn '75 Matt Eastin '05 Board of Trustees Chairman Housing Corporation President chuck@linn.net matt.eastin@cushwake.com In fall 2020, Will Gruener '20 competed in the Barnburner off-road bike race, a 50-mile event in Flagstaff, Ariz. He finished in 20th place out of 61 bikers. His time was 4 hours, 10 minutes, 12 seconds. Way to go, Will! We Appreciate Your Involvement Cheers to More Alumni Weekends! T hank you to everyone who attended our tailgate for Alumni Weekend. It was great to network with and meet so many great alumni from the class of 1960 to recent graduates. We already look forward to hosting more alumni get-togethers in coming years. Keep your schedule open for next summer, as we intend on hosting more alumni events. With you, we can carry on our traditions at Alpha Tau Omega.
