Angel Update PAGE 2 women provided me the opportunity to create genuine relationships." Through BOK, each year Leslie and her team work with over 660 nonprofit organizations to contribute an average of $6 million. They oversee 15 United Way employee campaigns raising more than $3 million to help meet community needs. One of the most rewarding efforts has been supporting nonprofits on the front lines of pandemic relief, specifically in the areas of food insecurity and workforce employment. Her tremendous work was recognized with a 2020 Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award for Professional Achievement, which celebrates distinguished Pi Phi alumnae who positively impact their communities. "I realized how little I would have been able to accomplish without the support of my BOK Financial coworkers, mentors, family, close friends and Pi Phi sisters," Leslie said. "I'm grateful and feel fortunate to be surrounded by supportive people who have helped shape who I am today." This year, Leslie launched a community engagement pilot program through BOK that accelerates resources to six nonprofit organizations supporting underserved communities of color by helping bridge gaps. This racial equity pilot program has committed over $650,000 to nonprofits that are helping their communities. In addition to the skills gained and the great learning experiences, the lifelong connection with her Pi Phi sisters has had the most profound and impactful benefit. "I can't image a better opportunity to foster an emphasis on personal integrity and respect for others, all while having a great time!" Leslie said. "My favorite memories were anytime I was with my Pi Phi sisters, from study hall to formal Monday night dinners to Homecoming. Those four years were some of the best I ever experienced, and I'm grateful for the opportunity." Even in her free time, Leslie enjoys volunteering in her community as well as hiking and reading historical fiction. During the pandemic, she spent most weekends with her significant other at his cattle ranch in Northeastern Oklahoma and explored small towns across Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri attending farmers markets, local coffee shops, antique stores and hiking local trails.
