p. 3 SIGMA PHI EPSILON A s we see our world slowly reopen from the COVID-19 pandemic, the brothers of Texas Alpha continue to demonstrate what it means to be a SigEp. Our members have grown and led in many aspects of their lives. Academics e chapter remains focused on academics while working through the strange reality that all students are dealing with. We posted a GPA of 3.42, which ranks highly among other university fraternities. Our new member class held the highest GPA of all new member classes on campus with a 3.7 GPA. Our membership has worked diligently and persevered through the challenges that face our chapter today. New Members Texas Alpha recruited 54 new members this past spring and summer. We look forward to getting to know these men and seeing the bright futures they have within our fraternity. e chapter is excited to see the same successes regarding community service hours and academics that past new member classes have had. We can't wait to see our new members grow as men, Longhorns, and brothers of Texas Alpha. Philanthropy Our chapter raised over $10,000 for both the University of Texas Outpost and the Austin Safe Alliance during this past year. We look forward to partnering with other service-driven student organizations to leverage our manpower and make a significant difference in our community. We plan to create and participate in events that benefit the natural environment surrounding Austin as well as local businesses and charities, such as Central Austin Food Bank and Feed My People, this fall. Chapter/Member Activities Although COVID-19 has made involvement more difficult, our members have not let the virus stop them from safely participating in organizations both on and off campus. Texas A YEAR WORTH CELEBRATING TEXAS ALPHA EXCELS IN ACADEMICS, RECRUITMENT, AND PHILANTHROPY Alpha is heavily involved in the Silver Spurs with eight active members, one of whom is a BEVO Handler and another who is a member of the Cannon Crew.
