For more than 10 years, the Parsons family
has made fall extra special
for kids and families in
Northwest Arkansas.
They run a fun place called
Farmland Adventures in Springdale
at a farm they have owned and worked
for five generations! Six of the eight Parsons
children still live and work at Farmland
Adventures.
There's so much to see and do here, we
hardly know where to start!
Giant and Mini corn Mazes
One of the most popular
adventures here is of course
the huge, nine-acre corn maze,
which has a different theme
every year. This year's theme is
"Secret Agent." You'll journey
into a world of spies and double
agents on a mission that would
be challenging for James Bond
himself. The maze is designed
to be educational too. Along the twisting
pathways are questions and answers, picture
rubbings, iconic spy movie images and more.
You can even download an app to a
smartphone for a new twist. It's called Maze
Tracker and it lets you choose a character to
follow on the screen as you wander around the
twisting paths of the maze.
There's even a smaller Mini Maze, hidden
within the Giant Corn Maze! It's about one
acre, and it's is great for younger explorers not
quite ready for the Giant Corn Maze.
Be sure to visit at night for Flashlight Nights!
Going through a maze and getting lost at night
is a totally different experience than in the day.
Are you up for the challenge and adventure of
a maze after dark? Use a flashlight to help you
find your way around the next corner.
Wagon rides
Hop on and take a ride in a flatbed wagon,
pulled by a friendly driver in his tractor. He'll
hand a tortilla to each person coming on
board. "We're going to feed them to the
cows," he says. "Tear them into strips. That's
how they like it." Sure enough, the big cows
come over to eat the tortillas from your hand!
