Email Stephanie at stephanie@upandcomingweekly.com THE BUZZ New Songs and Celebrations by STEVE TURLEY In this week's edition of The Buzz, we will learn about a Christian artist's infant son who was miraculously healed and we'll find out which band will be featured in an upcoming movie about a blind surfer. God still works miracles, as Aaron Shust can attest Aaron Shust's third son, Michael, was born last year as he was just beginning to write for his recently released album Morning Rises. When Michael was born, Shust and his wife, Sarah, were surprised to learn that he had several serious health issues including Down's Syndrome, a severe heart defect and profound deafness. After enduring open-heart surgery, Michael was scheduled to be tested to see what kind of hearing aid might help him. There was a strong possibility his hearing would not improve or might even be lost completely. Sarah felt impressed to take Michael to a prayer service in New York. She and Michael attended the service on a Friday night, just days before his hearing consultation was scheduled. The next morning he responded to her voice for the first time and the screening two days later confirmed a miracle had taken place. Not only did his hearing improve, the tests showed he had perfect hearing! About this incredible event Shust says, "It just blew my mind that God chose to heal in that sense. And this is the same Jesus that we sing to week after week. What an encouragement it is to know that even though God does not choose to always heal, he can, he is able, he is willing to touch us and make us whole. And one day he will make all things right. That's the God we serve." One of the songs that came out of this overwhelming experience is Shust's latest radio single "God of Brilliant Lights." The chours says, "The God of brilliant lights is shining down over us. Breaking through the darkness covering all the earth. His love is like the ocean, forever overflowing. The God of brilliant lights is shining over us." To hear the whole story in his own words check the video "Aaron Shust Shares Michael's Story" on youtube. A Christian band in a movie about a blind surfer from Brazil? Yes, it's true. Audio Adrenaline's new single "Believer" is a fearless declaration of Audio Adrenaline's newfound mission. "Believer" is a powerful reminder that the power of Christ is alive in each of us, no matter what we face! The song will be prominently featured in the upcoming movie Beyond Sight – which chronicles the inspiring story of blind surfer Derek Rabelo. Rabelo's father prayed that his son would become a famous professional surfer. Unfortunately on May 25, 1992, his prayer seemed unanswered when his son was born blind. Seventeen years later, Rabelo decided that despite his blindness he still wanted to surf and that he wanted to surf the Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu. Through the encouragement of his parents, best friend and surf coach, he embarked on a three-year journey of grueling mental, physical and spiritual training. Rabelo's story is an incredible reminder that the best journeys in life are walked by faith, and not by sight. As the song says, "I can see through the darkness, I hold up a flame, I'm not afraid, I'm a STEVE TURLEY, Station manager Christian believer...." 107.3 COMMENTS? Editor@upancomingweekly.com.
