3 Beta Tau What's been your favorite moment, where your eyes tingled with tears, of true Sigma Kappa sisterhood? Late-night chats in the lounge—consoling/supporting about school and life. Major and Graduation Year: Bachelor of Science in Public Relations (yes, a B.S. in P.R.), 1988 Career/Title: Long career in public relations, now CEO of my own boutique PR firm. Family: Married for 29 years with two (now adult) daughters. Lots of Australian Shepherd "children" since I've left college. Favorite Hobby: Traveling and scrapbooking! Favorite Vacation Spot: Anywhere in Europe What's your vision for how this house corporation board, and your role on it, will help perpetuate the Beta Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa forever? I hope we can build connections between all generations of Beta Taus! What was your favorite Sigma Kappa tradition or usual chapter occurrence that you loved when you were a collegian? Sisterhood trips—especially to Disney. What's been your favorite moment, where your eyes tingled with tears, of true Sigma Kappa sisterhood? When my Little, Sarah, turned around to me! Major and Graduation Year: Public Relations, 2018 Career/Title: I will soon be leaving full-time work to start law school in August at the University of South Carolina. Family: My fiancée, Savannah, and I live in Columbia, South Carolina, with our five cats and our dog! Favorite Hobby: Saving all the kitties! I serve as the adoption coordinator for a local cat rescue. Favorite Vacation Spot: Atlanta, Georgia What's your vision for how this house corporation board, and your role on it, will help perpetuate the Beta Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa forever? We are amazingly talented women of all ages driven to succeed! What was your favorite Sigma Kappa tradition or usual chapter occurrence that you loved when you were a collegian? We were too new—we created the traditions as we went along. What's been your favorite moment, where your eyes tingled with tears, of true Sigma Kappa sisterhood? Reconnecting with pledge sisters after 30 years…and not missing a beat! Major and Graduation Year: Political Science, 1987 Career/Title: The Rev. Dr. Susan Rose; I am a pastor and founded a non-profit to mentor women in ministry. Family: Married 27 years to Dave and have two young adult children. Favorite Hobby: Cycling on Saturdays with Dave! Favorite Vacation Spot: Either the mountains or the beach—outdoorsy with a view! Creating a financially stable and well-organized corporation to support a safe and happy chapter. What was your favorite Sigma Kappa tradition or usual chapter occurrence that you loved when you were a collegian? Dinner with my sisters was an important part of my daily life. What's been your favorite moment, where your eyes tingled with tears, of true Sigma Kappa sisterhood? Pinning my daughter at her initiation to Beta Tau. Major and Graduation Year: Mathematics, 1989 Career/Title: Math teacher, community volunteer, substitute teacher Family: Husband Steve, daughter Emily, son David Favorite Hobby: Reading, puzzles, spending time with family and friends What's your vision for how this house corporation board, and your role on it, will help perpetuate the Beta Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa forever? Nurture Beta Tau alumnae sisterhood and sustain our house for current and future members. What was your favorite Sigma Kappa tradition or usual chapter occurrence that you loved when you were a collegian? Friendships forged during late-night lounge chats, long hours of recruitment, and sisterhood events. What's been your favorite moment, where your eyes tingled with tears, of true Sigma Kappa sisterhood? The sincere outpouring of support for sisters facing life and health challenges.
