T hank you to all alumni who joined our virtual annual alumni association meeting on April 24th. It was the second (and hopefully last) time we had to cancel our gathering in Troy due to COVID-19 restrictions. ose on the board were joined by a few dozen alumni who saw us announce the official close to our capital campaign, review the results of our alumni survey, present our alumni association 10-year plan and priorities, and hold officer elections. We had originally planned to close our capital campaign at the 6294 Celebration in 2020. Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions forced us to cancel the event last minute. While we could not hold the plaque dedication ceremony, we still closed the campaign at 2021's 6294 and plan to hold a dedication ceremony at our house on Saturday, April 30, 2022 (COVID-19 permitting). We've completed our active solicitation phase but will keep collecting unfulfilled campaign pledges and accept any additional donations through early next year. We're just under $1 million pledged and just over $925,000 collected. We'd love to close out by breaking the $1 million mark donated but have listened to our alumni and understand it's time to move on to refocus and ground our alumni efforts. Aer spending the past decade focused on rebuilding our active chapter and alumni association and rehabilitating our historic chapter house, your alumni association surveyed our alumni. Eighty-seven alumni graciously participated, telling us in detail what your priorities are. We listened and have developed a more holistic 10-year plan, refocusing our efforts on our undergraduate chapter, alumni engagement, and continuing our focus on maintaining and improving our chapter house. is plan, outlined in the table below, readily lives up to the original purposes set out by our alumni association founders, "to promote social intercourse and the mutual improvement of all members" and "to…manage and operate a building" as a proper home for Alpha. ank you for your continued support of Alpha. Please email me if you have any questions about your association or our plans or for copies of the annual meeting slides presented in April.
