MOM'S DESIGN BUILD

This home has a beautiful wood-panel pub that
led to a deck barely big enough for a grill. The
clients wanted to open the room to a much more
substantial deck to accommodate larger
gatherings and integrate the indoor and outdoor
living spaces while preserving their privacy. The
new wrap-around Ipe deck has a striking pergola
fitted over half of it. Mechanical louvers,
disappearing screens, efficient heaters and a
privacy wall create a versatile environment that
deflects rain, chilly weather, insects and prying
eyes. It also affords direct access to the putting
green and property grounds. Wide bi-fold doors
integrate the pub with the new outdoor space.

This full home remodel project began
with plans to relocate the laundry room and
staircase and convert the den into a second
master bedroom. The project expanded,
and the backyard, bathrooms, and kitchen
were remodeled as well. The end result is a
newly converted bedroom with a private
bathroom and walk-in closet, additional
kitchen storage and a modern look
throughout every room. The owner's goals
were met by using the existing space in
creative ways and updating rooms through
layout and product modifications
