The owners wanted to remove the small existing
portico and create a large front porch that extended
across the face of their home. To achieve this, the
existing portico, siding, shingles, gutters, facia,
downspouts and shutters were removed and an
8-foot by 28-foot front porch with a gabled roof was
built in its place. The existing roof above the
breezeway was modified to accommodate the new
porch roof. Fixing significant water damage under
the existing wood siding around the windows,
garage door and soffits was the greatest challenge.
The home's exterior now features platinum gray
colored vinyl siding, white trim and black shutters.
The stately arched entry, metal columns and new
front door complete the exterior's transformation.

The clients wanted to add an outdoor feature
that was unlike any other, while pushing the
boundaries of craftsmanship. A 34-foot masonry
chimney was built as the focal point for main
level entertaining and includes two fireboxes
that serve both the existing patio and the deck.
A new IPE radius deck with steel cabling
installed in the handrail wraps around the house
from the existing patio to the master bedroom,
offering clear views of the property and pond.
A concrete slab was poured below the
deck, providing additional entertaining space
underneath.
