Sigma Phi EPSilon PAGE 2 others' experiences that hit all aspects of life," Jerry said. "The contacts I made within the house and through the Greek system were priceless. These connections opened doors for me that are too numerous to count." Jerry is proud to see that many of SigEp's longstanding traditions remain integral to the brotherhood today. He helped many of his brothers learn about these same values and traditions while serving as pledge trainer alongside Stormin' Ray Norman '88. "Our active brothers are a group that is working on transitioning the Greek experience in today's society," Jerry said. "They are a solid group of young men who are starting to take on the task of transforming the house for the next generation of SigEps at Kansas State." Jerry has helped these efforts by assisting with the physical structure at 1015 Sunset and making sure the building is safely maintained. He also serves on the Alumni Board and enjoys connecting with brothers from the mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s. "The memories of our time at K-State fade year by year," Jerry said. "I encourage all alumni brothers to get reconnected and involved again, even if it's just through reaching out to others." Jerry hopes that reconnecting with old friends and rekindling memories will help spur enthusiasm among alumni to support the current and future generations of SigEps. "Do yourself a favor and call a pledge brother today and see where it takes you," Jerry said. "At my age, new adventures are needed!" At 1015 Sunset, continued alumni support through gifts of time, learned wisdom, and financial contributions are always needed. "We alums need to allow our blood to flow back into the heart of the house as we all promised years ago," Jerry said. "Get involved, even if it's only two or three hours a month." Outside of his involvement with Kansas Beta, Jerry is the president of Dixon Contracting Services and Prairie Shield Roofing. "I got my start in the construction supply business and eventually went to work for my customers," Jerry said. "This turned into realizing I could do this on my own if I was willing to take the risk. Best decision I ever made." Jerry and his wife, Beth, live in Louisburg, Kansas, and have four children: Katie, Sydney, Anna, and Dane. Jerry can be reached at jdixon@ dixoncontractingservices.com.
