O n behalf of the Gamma Gamma Chapter actives, I am excited to announce our full support for the Building on Ron Reeves' Legacy Campaign. We are committed to Gamma Gamma's future and take pride in the history and reputation our alumni have created for us to uphold. Our membership in Alpha Tau Omega is the primary piece of our positive college experience. It has provided us with some of our best friends and structure to succeed in our collegiate and professional endeavors. After earning our chapter's 24th True Merit award in 2020, we have no plans to stop pushing to be the best Rose-Hulman has to offer. A True Merit award undoubtedly required a very strong academic effort, attaining a GPA above the campus average. Our second annual 24-hour gaming marathon raised more than $2,500 for Riley Children's Hospital. Brothers also hold various leadership positions across campus, such as SGA president, SGA vice president, and IFC treasurer. Several brothers have excelled athletically this past year as well, helping RHIT win conference championships in swimming and diving, track and field, and cross- country. There's no doubt that Alpha Tau Omega remains synonymous with success at Rose-Hulman. The planned renovations for the chapter house will grant many major benefits to our already thriving chapter. More modern living spaces and new study areas will provide members with a better atmosphere to succeed in their many endeavors. Brothers will be more motivated to live in-house, strengthening the already strong brotherhood that drove all of us to join Gamma Gamma. We will be much more competitive when recruiting new members by showing off the many updated features of the house. Because of the immediate and long-term benefits of a renovated chapter house, the undergraduate chapter has committed to a multi-faceted and long-term contribution to the campaign. The Chapter committed $100,000 early in the campaign to cover work that was needed to be done, and we have been transferring surplus Chapter funds to the Housing Corporation to fulfill that pledge. I am pleased to say we are close to fulfilling that initial commitment. In addition to the first gift, the Chapter will continue to transfer surplus funds to the House Corporation during the 5-year pledge payment collection period. Once the campaign concludes as expected in 2026, the chapter will take over the paying the mortgage balance for the next 15-20 years. All in all, the Chapter's up-front commitment of $100,000 plus the transfer of surplus funding during the campaign and the mortgage period results in 20-25% of the total project being funded by the Chapter. This contribution reflects the Chapter's commitment to Gamma Gamma's presence on campus, the brotherhood we share with alumni, current and future members and our home at 5500 Wabash.
