W hile last semester was anything but normal, we have grown stronger as a chapter through it all. We found new ways to come together and uphold our values. From socially distanced sisterhood activities to virtual game nights, we persevered and have done our best to make the most out of our college years as Pi Beta Phi women. In November, we were even able to have a special sisters-only dinner at Sola, a restaurant on the Square. We were able to dress up and safely gather to celebrate our year and make new memories together. l Philanthropy Remains Priority Another highlight of our semester was holding our philanthropy event virtually through a TikTok battle that our members helped coach. We raised money for Read > Lead > Achieve ® and provided a sense of normalcy for our members. l Keeping Sisters Safe COVID-19 has presented many challenges, and everyone at Mississippi Beta has done all we can do to keep our members safe and healthy. We have extra staff members working seven days a week to keep the house clean and sanitized. We have extended mealtimes to offer members the opportunity to eat at the house responsibly. We are following the guidelines provided to us by Ole Miss and Pi Beta Phi Headquarters and will continue for as long as needed. We are hopeful we will be able to gather with our sisters more throughout this year. l Bright Future for Mississippi Beta We are excited for the opportunities and memories to come, because no matter the challenge, we know that our sisters will be there for us. One of the most anticipated events of 2021 is our house renovation beginning in June! This will include more dorm rooms for our members and a bigger dining room and chapter room that will accommodate all our members. l Grateful for Pi Phi Sisterhood We are so thankful to be back at 642 Rebel Drive for the spring semester. Things still look different than we are used to, but we are confident that we can still accomplish great things with our sisters by our side. I hope you are all staying healthy and safe.
