MS Beta Post The Mississippi Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Mississippi | Spring 2021 A s I've recently reflected on what Pi Beta Phi has meant to me, I've thought a lot about how 642 Rebel Drive has served as a cornerstone for Mississippi Beta. Our beloved home away from home has provided thousands of women an environment to spread their angel wings at Ole Miss for nearly 60 years. While the Mississippi Beta Chapter house is near and dear to our hearts, there's no denying that major updates need to be made so it can be a premier home for our bright and beautiful collegians and future Pi Phi sisters. By contributing to the Always True to the Wine and Blue – 60 Years of Mississippi Beta Tradition capital campaign, you can ensure 642 Rebel Drive will remain a welcoming place on campus where Sincere Friendships are made. I want to extend my gratitude to the 151 alumnae and friends of Mississippi Beta who have collectively raised more than $700,000 toward the campaign. Between their generous donations and a $500,000 commitment from the undergraduate chapter, more than $1.2 million has been raised toward our $1.75 million goal. For sisters who have yet to contribute, I want to assure you that no gift is too small when it comes to making a difference for Mississippi Beta. I completely understand that finances remain tight during these difficult times. If you do have the means to give, this project is well worth your support. Even during an unusual academic year unlike any we ever experienced, Mississippi Beta's collegians are leading with Integrity at Ole Miss. I'm so proud of sisters like Preserving Our Home at 642 Rebel Drive Add to Your Legacy at Mississippi Beta with a Gift to the Capital Campaign Campaign Progress by the Numbers As of April 30, 2021 $1.75 Million Goal $708,875 Alumnae Commitments $500,000 Chapter Commitment 151 Contributors 8.2% Alumnae Participation Always True to the Wine and Blue Always True to the Wine and Blue Haley Tyrell '17, Bella Kraft '20 and Emma Devlin '18 on Bid Day 2020. The collegians have admirably represented our sisterhood, but if we can't make the necessary renovations to the chapter house, we're running the risk of no longer remaining relevant during sorority recruitment. Sisters, now is the time to honor your Lifelong Commitment to Pi Phi with a gift to this important campaign. I'm beyond excited to see the outcome of the chapter house renovation and expansion, which is scheduled to be complete by August 2022 – just in time for Mississippi Beta's 60 th anniversary celebration. As excitement builds for this project, we cannot wait for groundbreaking in June Please be on the lookout for more details for the groundbreaking in the coming weeks. Until then, stay safe and healthy as you spread your angel wings in all your endeavors.
