A
t the Alumni Association meeting on October 12,
2019, a motion passed to convene a committee for
the nomination of Al Wurster (BZ 1334) into the Beta
Zeta Hall of Honor. Jay Maddox (BZ 1065) led the
effort from the Purdue Sigma Nu Alumni Association
and confirmed Al was worthy of this honor for all that
Al has done for Sigma Nu national as Chairman of
Sigma Nu Education Foundation, current member of
High Council, and Beta Zeta. Al's contribution to the
National Fraternity and service to Beta Zeta through
the Housing Corporation, Alumni Association, and
campaign board for the house on 1301 Tower Drive
have made him well deserving of this honor. What's
more, he's applied the leadership skills he learned from
Sigma Nu throughout his career and in his community.
On October 28, 2020, we were thrilled to celebrate
Al's enshrinement into the Beta Zeta Hall of Honor.
Beta Zeta Hall of Honor inductees Jay Ricker (BZ
1084) and Chuck Ludwig (BZ 1066) shared Al's
long list of significant accomplishments during the
virtual alumni meeting. Al's son, Max, also read
and presented the letter from the Regent John Hearn
to Al as Sigma Nu National was supportive of his
recognition.
