Best wishes from a Lambda Gamma (UVA) alumna sister!" – Brenda Leerar, Lambda Gamma '88 "Some of my best memories are in that house!" – Katie Christensen '94 "My favorite house on Piedmont filled with the best friends and memories." – Mary I. Gianola Wolfer '09 Welcoming Home New Hooties! Thanks to the hard work of Recruitment Chairman Crystal Smith '20, Mu chapter welcomed 32 wonderful new members to our sisterhood this spring. Our new member educator, Rhiannon Patapoff '20, organized a fun and spirited Chi Omega Rodeo-themed virtual Bid Day. We are excited to see how these women will grow and thrive as members of Mu chapter! Sisterhood in the Virtual World Another virtual semester has offered our sisters more opportunities to connect in new and creative ways. Our directors of social events and sisterhood, Skye Benyon '20 and Lauren Jung '20, organized a Netflix Galentine's Day party and mailed care packages to sisters around the country. Director of Career and Personal Development Jennifer Evans '20 organized resume workshops and virtual interview prep over Zoom. Additionally, Philanthropy Chairman Elizabeth Haigh '20 organized a Zoom speed dating event for our first philanthropy event of the semester. We invited all students of Berkeley to participate so they could meet more of the community in the midst of the newfound virtual environment. By the end of the event, we raised $680 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. While having all of our events online is far from the sorority norm, we love that this platform allows our sisters who are not in Berkeley to stay connected and active. Outside of Chi Omega, our sisters are staying involved in the campus community amidst the pandemic. Sisters Skye Benyon '20, Crystal Smith '20, Avani Shah '20, and Mikayla Hubbard '20 are volunteering at the on-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Smita Sikaria '20 and Cate Holmes '20 work with EthiCal, a campus organization producing sustainable apparel for the Berkeley community. Thea Mollerstedt '20 is back training in person with the Berkeley varsity track and field team. Despite the difficult times, our sisters are staying connected with each other and the greater Berkeley community. Looking Ahead We have many things to look forward to in the remainder of our spring semester. Alumnae Relations Chairman Beth Daughters '20, with the help of beloved Alumnae Advisor Dee Hawk Pearce '63, is organizing a virtual Eleusinia celebration in April. As a chapter, we would like to thank all of the alumnae who have supported us in this difficult time, and we hope to welcome you back to the Mu chapter house as soon as it is safe to do so. Loyally in Chi Omega, Mikayla Hubbard '20 Chapter President SISTERHOOD PREVAILS Mu Chapter Finds Creative Ways to Stay Connected Left: Floridian sister Elle Ghiloni '20 and SoCal sister Yasi Fahimi '20 take a trip to Colorado to see the snow.
