T he Delta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega is flourishing despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We have functioned within the parameters provided by the state and OU, and our chapter is steadily growing larger each semester. Delta Kappa is one of the most established fraternity chapters in the Midwest, as we are now the largest ATΩ chapter in the nation, surpassing Ole Miss, with 279 members and pledges. In addition, Delta Kappa is the largest fraternity chapter at the University of Oklahoma, and widely considered to be most socially influential around campus. Spring recruitment was again conducted over Zoom, and recruitment chairmen Cole Hardy '20 and Randy St. Clair '20 signed 15 of the best young men pledging this spring. With fall recruitment returning to an in-person format and chapter size and participation at an all-time high, we again anticipate having the privilege of hand- picking the best and brightest incoming students. To begin this spring semester, ATΩ organized and hosted a blood and plasma drive in response to the overwhelming need for blood and antibodies in hospitals across the state. Partnering with Tri Delta and Beta Theta Pi, around 150 students donated toward the cause. The drive was a highlight of the chapter's recent community involvement this semester, as it was not only recognized by OU for providing the initiative to organize the drive but also the Oklahoma Blood Institute, which co-sponsored the drive. It is assumed that chapter activities will return to a somewhat normal fashion this fall semester. Until then, the chapter will look for ways to benefit the surrounding community through similar philanthropy activities and on-campus involvement. We currently boast an extraordinarily high level of on-campus involvement in OU philanthropies and organizations, as well as a top three member GPA among IFC chapters and a top five GPA among new members. Until the vaccine is readily dispersed, the executive team has updated our list of rules and regulations created last semester. To limit the exposure and spread of the virus around our chapter house and community as a whole, members will be strongly encouraged to receive the vaccine once it is available for all students. The updated precautions have been well received throughout the chapter, and there has yet to be a positive case this semester. Delta Kappa will continue to thrive for many years to come, and we are very excited to see what the next few years have in store.
