3 significant impact on Sigma Chi's future at K-State simply by sending the names of high school seniors planning to go to KSU and who would make great Sigs to Recruitment Chairmen Jack Burton '23, Chase Kreutzer '22, and Gage Roberts '24. To better recruit in general and particularly outside of Johnson County, we have used zoom to connect with people across the state and beyond. Luckily, we have received quite a few contacts for potential new brothers that live outside of Kansas City, but please continue to send us those names. We have all been fortunate to benefit from the Sigma Chi experience, and it is important for future generations of young men at K-State to have the same opportunities. Please introduce the high school seniors you know to Sigma Chi sooner rather than later, so they get the chance to learn all about our brotherhood prior to registering for recruitment. Thank you for your dedication to Delta Upsilon Chapter and helping Sigma Chi set the bar for fraternities at K-State and nationwide. Thanks to the leadership of Sam Forrer '63, and in partnership with the Sigma Chi Foundation, we've launched this effort to provide perpetual benefits to the Delta Upsilon Chapter undergraduates in the areas of scholarship and leadership. Sam has made a generous donation of $100,000 to kick off the campaign and Jim Schroeder '62 has pledged an additional $100,000, putting us well on our way to our initial goal of $250,000. We thank Sam and Jim for their visionary support and leadership! The Bell Chapter Challenge—a program of the Sigma Chi Foundation—provides annual benefits to the chapter, including priority registrations and additional reserved spots for Sigma Chi's licensed and soon-to-be accredited leadership programs, $4,000 per year in academic scholarships, travel reimbursements for chapter attendance at Sigma Chi programs, and more. This program distinguishes Delta Upsilon Chapter as a premier chapter in Sigma Chi. The Foundation's research has shown that Bell chapters outperform non-Bell chapters in a number of areas of operational excellence. You'll be hearing more about how our undergraduate brothers are benefiting from this program in the coming months and we hope you'll join Sam and Jim in supporting the campaign. DELTA UPSILON CHAPTER NAMED BELL CHAPTER BY SIGMA CHI FOUNDATION A s many of you may know, the Delta Upsilon Chapter implemented a no-alcohol policy within the chapter facility to adjust the culture of the chapter. A bylaw has been implemented and we've gotten full support from the active members and alumni. We believe this policy will bring more social responsibility to our members and create a better environment for the future. Riley County has recently adjusted their COVID-19 plans. The new plan states that any event with more than 50 people doesn't need to be registered through the health department. It also allows venues to open their business to their full capacities. This makes it simpler to have an incredible Derby Days, Mom's Weekend, and Dad's weekend later this spring. With our own COVID-19 guidelines in place, we are planning to have a safe yet exhilarating remainder of the spring semester. Our informal recruitment season is in process and we're very excited about all the candidates coming to K-State next semester. Recruitment Chairmen Gage Roberts '22, Jack Burton '23, and Chase Kreutzer '24 are doing an incredible job of recruiting strictly off the Jordan Standard, the prime requirement to become a member of Sigma Chi. The recruitment chairmen and the rest of the chapter have had numerous meetings with Jesse Trout '99, who has helped us find tools through the General Fraternity to make remote recruitment the best it could possibly be for our chapter and potential Sigs. Throughout the past two years, we have consistently increased our chapter GPA. In fall 2020, we finished with a 3.32 GPA to rank in the top 10 of all K-State fraternities. We also performed significantly better than the all-men's GPA of 3.06. We are proud of this accomplishment and are striving to do even better this spring. One of our brothers has gone above and beyond for the Greek community. Matt Kuckelman '22 was elected as the Interfraternity Council president. He's in charge of all 22 fraternities at K-State, all the directors of the council, and collaborates with the Panhellenic Council as well. We are incredibly proud of Matt and will support him throughout his term. Delta Upsilon Chapter has endured a lot during this school year and all brothers appreciate the support throughout this process. Alumni, we thank you.
