Spring 2021
ASSOCIATION BOARD
SUBCOMMITTEES PAY DIVIDENDS
F
armHouse and UNL, along with everyone else, are experiencing
the third and hopefully the last semester with major COVID-19
restrictions. It has been a challenge for the board and especially
the active members. However, I believe all have pitched in and handled it
very well. One of the biggest downfalls has been the loss of many of the
unique fraternal and college experiences that the men won't get back.
All of the three newly formed committees on the Association Board have
been active and are a good addition to the board. I'm going to mention
the brotherhood committee since there is an event for this spring. We are
having a brotherhood gathering – in this case a golf outing – this spring
since we were not able to have a Homecoming gathering last fall. At the
time of this writing, the details are not all in place, but there is also a fun
new fundraiser that will be in motion.
I want to give one last thank-you to Dave Rasmussen '70 and Bob
Nordstrom '74 for their years of service on the board. I would also like
to welcome two new members to the Association Board. Jesse Sitz '96 is
an attorney with Baird Holms and has been involved with the corporate
restructuring of the entities. Marshall Hansen '88 is with Farm Credit in
Omaha. Before you shed tears for missing your chance to serve, keep in
mind there will be more openings next year.
Fraternally,

PLANS IN PROGRESS FOR SPRING ALUMNI EVENT
Will You Be a
FarmHouse Mentor?
You Can Help Our Actives
Achieve Their Career Goals
A
sk any successful person what factors had a major impact on
their lives and they'll usually include someone they identify as
a mentor. Maybe they weren't formerly called a mentor, but that
was how they contributed to their life. Many can also connect their later
careers and advancement to their FarmHouse alumni network.
The brotherhood subcommittee of the Nebraska FarmHouse Alumni
Board plans to create a mentoring program available to Nebraska Chapter
active members. The goal is to increase and enhance the opportunity for
FarmHouse actives to interact with alumni across the country.
This mentorship program aims to connect more actives with alumni who
might offer career advice, examine future opportunities, locate possible
internships, and in the process enhance credentials for job interviews or
