Health Partnership meeting The Tehama County Health Partnership will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at Corning City Council Chambers, 794 Third St., in Corning. The members will be electing new officers for the coming fiscal year and work on developing their sub- committee workplans for the 2010/2011 fiscal year. CA Healthy Kids Survey results will be shared with the group. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. For more information call 527-6824. Come and listen to In the Reign and "Experience Red Bluff's Original Rock and Roll for the Soul" during the Eight Annual Wine Tasting by the Pool, to be held at the McGlynn Pool of Red Bluff on Saturday. The wine tasting begins at 7 p.m. and will last until 10 p.m. There will be a silent auction, raffle prizes, dancing, and hors d'oeuvres. Red Cross The local Red Cross volunteers will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at the Corning Fire Department to continue planning Red Cross disaster response in and around the Corning area. This response may be assisting families who lose their house because of fires, setting up shelters because of wild land fires, financial assistance to accident vic- tims on I-5, localized flooding or more. At this meeting volunteer John Hursey from Willows and Emergency Manager Charles McCaul from Yuba City will discuss Coordinator Kim Berry, left, accepts a check for a $1,000 grant from Walmart Manager Sherry Johnston. The grant will provide opportunities for a shopping day for local disadvantaged children to purchase shoes, clothes, backpacks and haircuts before school starts. “Walmart is committed to helping address the unmet needs in the communities where we serve,” Johnston said. “Our support of the Back to School Project underscores this commitment and we are hopeful that through our grant, residents in Red Bluff will continue to support the Back to School Project.” Community Clips specific ways to assist victims and the tools the use to assist them financially. Meeting The next meeting of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Red Bluff Chapter 1655 will be held at the Veterans Hall, corner of Oak and Jackson streets, July 19. The program for the meeting will be a group of fid- dlers called Loosely Strung. This group has performed for Chapter 1655 before and it included some singing. A lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $10 per per- son. All active and retired federal employees are invit- ed to attend. Viticulture workshop The Shasta-Cascade Viticulture Association is pleased to announce a Beginning Wine Making work- shop from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 24. The winemaking workshop will be held at Salmon Creek Vineyards. The workshop is intended for people with little or no winemaking experience, and who want to learn the basic principals and practices of winemak- ing. John Strahan will lead the workshop.
