As we've adjusted to new normals in our everyday lives, it is my hope you've still had opportunities to connect with your Pi Phi sisters. Since our sisterhood's founding in 1867, Pi Beta Phi has been a source of strength for its undergraduate members and alumnae, even during the darkest of times. Each Pi Phi lights anew, and I hope you've felt that comfort and support in recent months. No matter the challenges 2020 has presented, please know your sisters are always here for you. Whether it's a phone call, text, email, Zoom call or a small socially-distanced gathering, there are many ways to safely keep your sisterly bonds strong as we push forward together. At Colorado Alpha, the chapter is focused on both supporting each other through a challenging school year and remembering the importance of self-care. This year we really focused on the importance of taking care of yourself and your sisters. During our quarantines at the house we had some fun sisterhoods, including crafts, writing letters to sisters and even a mini Pi Phi Prom one night in the chapter room. Our members' well- being and mental health are top priority, especially during trying times like this, so we wanted to foster a supportive and positive environment as much as possible. We also had Dan Faill speak about Sincere Friendship and what that really looks like. This was such a valuable conversation to have and it really stressed how crucial it is to be kind to yourself and check in on others. Doing something as simple as reaching out to one of your sisters when they are struggling and letting them know they are loved is what our sisterhood is all about. The memories shared together have helped define our Sincere Friendships. Colorado Alpha collegians have realized during the pandemic that now more than ever, we need our sisters for support and inspiration. I am so grateful for all the officers on Executive Council who have been so supportive and wonderful during this time. Vice President Operations Tate Robinson '18 and Vice President Member Experience Olivia Crawford '18 were always there for me in every way this past year, especially living in the house. They always stepped up and helped run meetings during the pandemic in addition to being wonderful friends. Pi Phi helps me in difficult times, because no matter what there is always someone there to listen and help. Having this kind of constant love and support always gives me happiness and hope even in the most difficult of times. The empowerment we've all experienced from Pi Phi is a feeling unlike any other, and there's no doubt that sharing those moments with sisters in-person makes them that much more special. However, no amount of distance can prevent us from being equipped to fulfill our mission. Whether it's reaching out to a sister who needs your support or seeking a sister to confide in, please know that making the effort to stay in touch with your sisters is 100% worth it. We can't wait until the day when it's safe to gather again for our favorite Colorado Alpha events and develop and strengthen Sincere Friendships at our beloved home at 890 11 th Street. Until then, we wish good health and happiness to you and your loved ones and a renewed sense of resilience to guide you through the year.
