13 The More the Merrier : BOWMORE 18 YEAR OLD AND BOWMORE 26 YEAR OLD WINE MATURED Established in the late 1770s by a local merchant named David Simson, Bowmore sits on the eastern side of the island of Islay and is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Scotch enthusiasts from around the world seek out its exquisite whiskies, including rare bottlings like the Bowmore 18 Year Old, which features light smoke with touches of caramel, ripe fruit, and chocolate on the palate.
