Our Legacy. These early supporters recognize the importance of ensuring the future of Beta Omicron and have demonstrated a sense of gratitude for their personal experience. All donors contributing a minimum of $5,000 to the campaign, over a five-year period, will be recognized on a plaque prominently displayed in the renovated Shelter. All donors giving $2,500 or more will be recognized in campaign publications. If an error has been made in recording your gift, or your name has been mistakenly omitted or listed improperly, we sincerely apologize. Please contact our campaign coordinator at (785) 843-1661 so we may make a correction. Chuck Rossi '83 Delt has been a part of my life since I pledged in 1979. It was an integral part of my college experience, providing a basis for learning how to live with and get along with others. In addition to making lifelong friends, I met my wife of 35 years in the Shelter; one of my sons joined Delt as well. I am supporting the capital campaign to ensure the long-term success of the Beta Omicron Chapter so that others can experience what I have. I would also like to make sure that I, my son, and my fraternity brothers have a place to call home when we return to the Cornell campus. What motivated you to support the Beta Omicron capital campaign? I wanted to give back. Delt was an important part of my Cornell experience and not only contributed to lifelong friendships but gave me an opportunity to grow and practice leadership skills while in school; it provided a robust social experience within a large university. The Shelter needed to be renovated when I was there 25 years ago, and it has been a goal of ours for a long time. When I was House Corporation Treasurer for a few years, we would discuss the need for it but believed we didn't have the alumni support at the time. It's exciting to be in a place where this long-needed project is now feasible. If other alumni asked why you were involved in the campaign, what would you tell them? How would you encourage those who may be on the fence to get involved? It's our turn to pay it forward. Delt played a role in the success I have had in my life and career, and I want this experience to be available for future students at Cornell. If we don't upgrade the Shelter soon, it will become uncompetitive; it's not a "nice to have" but a "must have" to modernize the Shelter. We benefitted from previous generations who built the Shelter for us, and it's our turn to continue that generosity. At the end of the day, it was a pretty easy decision for me. It's an opportunity to give back to Delt, and to Cornell (and as a side benefit, it's tax deductible). It's never a perfect time to give, but it's time for us to do our part. Alex Wernberg '96
