BY MICHELLE WILSON Most of us would probably agree that this year has felt like living in another world but certainly one that is quite the opposite of the beautiful land of Oz. For more than eighty years, the yellow brick road has paved the way for Technicolor entertainment for generations. Since so many are still under strict travel restrictions, there's no better way to end 2020 than taking a trip to the Emerald City when "The Wizard of Oz" airs Monday, Dec. 28, on TNT. Here's a few interesting facts about the 1939 film's villain that maybe you didn't know: Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West, was actually 36 years-old. In comparison, Glinda, the Good Witch of the North (Billie Burke) was 54. It's amazing what costumes and makeup can do to fool others about your age! Speaking of makeup, Hamilton's green appearance consisted of a copper base and could not be ingested so the only thing she could consume during filming was liquids. Hamilton also was a kindergarten teacher prior to her becoming an actress. Producers also were afraid of the Wicked Witch, cutting many of her scenes because they were thought to be too scary for children. "I'll get you, my pretty!"
