QES Superintendent Raquel Burton resigns During a special meeting held Tuesday, December 15th, Quartzsite Elementary School (QES) Board of Directors announced Superintendent Raquel Burton's last day in person will be Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, taking vacation days. It was also announced that Dr. Barajas will be start- ing the fi rst of January as Interim District Su- perintendent. The board appproved for Monica Timberlake to work with staff during and lapse in Superintendency. QES is in session with distance learning. During their December 10th meeting, the board approved a Separation from Employ- ment Agreement with Burton. The next meeting will be a regular meeting of the Governing Board held on Thursday, January 14,2020 at 6:00 pm.
