page 2 and procedures were put into place to keep member health and safety the foremost priority. This summer also provided a unique opportunity for several officers to develop creative plans for a virtual recruitment as well as meaningful programming for all of our members during the semester. Recognizing how important it would be to keep our members close to the sisterhood during social distancing, the women have worked hard to plan fun and safe activities for all sisters. Working with the women of Theta Omega is such a pleasure. They have tackled challenges head-on and strive to better themselves, their chapter, and one another. As we look to slate a new officer team, I am excited to work with a new set of women as they grow into their leadership and commitment to Tri Delta. If you are interested in serving as an alumna advisor to one of our officers, I would love to speak with you! We have lots of opportunities for alumnae to mentor women in their areas of expertise. Please feel free to reach out to me. Delta Love, Whitney Juneau '05 Alumna Advisor (785) 841-1076 whitneyjuneau@me.com PERSEVERING FOR THE SISTERHOOD (Continued from page 1) During recruitment work week at the beginning of the semester, sisters went in sessions to a local Orange Theory gym to work out together. W hile this year has been quite different than anything we ever expected, Theta Omega Chapter leaders and members have done their best to make the most of our time together. In the spring, we were able to host several events virtually to keep the sisterhood connected. We had various virtual events, HIIT workouts, yoga, trivia nights, and even movie nights. Once we returned to school in the fall, we were able to host a successful virtual recruitment, welcoming over 60 amazing young women. Our chapter leaders have been very creative in finding ways for our members to get to know our new members while staying safe. We hosted various movie nights on our front lawn while socially distancing and following CDC guidelines, hosted come-and-go ice cream nights, and even had virtual sisterhood events. We held a virtual cookie decorating event, bracelet- making event, and more trivia nights! With my time as chapter president coming to an end, I reflect on what a privilege it has been to serve and lead a group of such amazing women. I have had the opportunity to get to know many of our chapter members on such a personal level and really get to know their hearts. While at times the position has been challenging, knowing that I am able to lead such phenomenal women has made it all worth it. I am honored to have worked alongside such brave, bold, and kind leaders. Our 2019-20 leadership team has led with such grace, humility, and integrity. Our leaders have had to adjust, and I am very confident that our chapter will be in good hands with our next leadership team. The future of Theta Omega Chapter here at the University of Kansas is very bright.
