David's 40-plus-year commitment to ΛΧΑ started at Cal State Fresno as an undergraduate. Since 2008, David has been a leader and role model for Alpha Lambda Chapter. In 2010, he was inducted to the International Order of Merit—one of only 235 recipients in the last 100 years—for lifetime achievement and contribution to the fraternity. In 2016, he was nominated from the floor of Lambda Chi Alpha's International General Assembly to serve on the International Board of ΛΧΑ. David makes continuous sacrifices and tough decisions to help the brothers of Alpha Lambda grow not only in the number of active ΛΧΑs on campus, but more important, grow as better men. David has been married to his Delta Gamma legacy wife, Pam (Arizona State), for 35 years and he has four children, three children-in- law, and one granddaughter. He describes one of his proudest moments was when his son, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joshua Leathers '17-1968, became a member at Oregon State. David's commitment to Lambda Chi Alpha is unmatched and this award is well deserved. His dedication and commitment to Alpha Lambda are key reasons for ΛΧΑ continuing to lead at Oregon State, even while the chapter house facility is failing. Outstanding Greek Advisor of the Year T his fall, fires raged through California, Oregon, and Washington, destroying property and displacing people from their homes and businesses. Many of our brothers live in this northwest region and were affected in some way.
