Page 9 Blaine L. Mack '48-546 lives in Palm Desert, CA after retiring from a long and distinguished U.S. military career. Blaine received his pilot wings in February 1944 and was the youngest pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force. During World War II, he flew P-38 fighter planes in the Aleutians. Blaine was released from active duty in November 1946 and recalled to the Air Force in April 1951 to be an F-86 pilot in Korea. During the Cold War, he was an aircraft commander and flew the B-47 for two years and the B-52 for 10 years. This included leading retaliatory force during the Cuban Missile Crisis and closing his career with 56 flight missions over Vietnam. Blaine retired in November 1970 at the rank of lieutenant colonel. Bill Myers '67-786 is enjoying life with his grandchildren who range from ages 1 to 23. He also enjoys spending time with friends, going on trips in his RV, and volunteering. Email: weaselcrossing1@gmail.com Ty Mast '75-942 spends his time working on things around his home and goes on occasional camping trips in his 20-foot Airstream trailer. He visits his two grandchildren whenever he gets the chance. Email: tymas001@comcast.net Norm Krehbiel '76-971 retired from his position as CEO of the Port of Longview in February after nearly 30 years with the organization. Norm joined the company in 1993 as the Director of Facilities and Engineering. In 2008, he was appointed Deputy Executive Director and later Chief Operating Officer before being named CEO in 2016. Throughout his Port career, Norm managed the construction and maintenance of more than 800 acres of infrastructure and property development. Key projects completed under his leadership include the construction of the Port's Industrial Rail Corridor and both Berth 8 and Berth 9 cargo handling docks. In retirement, Norm looks forward to more time with his family and doing part-time engineering consulting work. Norm lives in Longview, WA. Bill Boney '78- 1018 of Victor, ID, recently visited the gravesite of Joyce Briggs, our fondly remembered housemother affectionately known as Mrs. B. After her husband passed away, Joyce moved from their Idaho ranch to Corvallis in 1966 and spent the next 25 years of her life as a dedicated ΛΧΑ housemother. Mrs. B retired in 1991 and returned to Idaho. She passed away in 1995. Bill continues to operate his dining and catering business, serving the Greater Teton area. Email: diningin@silverstar.com Bill Kenny '81-1079 was named Bucknell Staff Member of the Year at Bucknell University. Bill is a professor of music, and in his 35 years at the University he has served as director of the Symphonic Band, leader of the Bison Band, and chair of the University's faculty. His career in music began when he recognized his passion for music and playing the horn, and applied to college with a major in music. In leading the Bison Band, Bill has been able to bring important people in his life together, including his wife and daughter, friends, community members, alumni, and a host of enthusiastic students. The band travels together, supporting the University's athletic teams and playing fun music together. "The education, and the total experience, that Bucknell offers is truly, vitally important. But before we teach about notes, about repertoire, about our disciplines, we teach people—real people having real lives." Bill lives in Lewisburg, PA. Email: kenny@bucknell.edu Shane Wall '84-1141 retired from his position of Chief Technology Officer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He spent 15 years with HP and also held the position of global head of HP Labs, the company's research wing. Key focus areas at HP for Shane included 3-D printing, which the company has begun to commercialize in recent years with its Jet Fusion line of commercial and industrial 3-D printers. Shane said that "digital manufacturing" will be the next wave of how physical products are made and a vision of where the industry is going. He will remain an employee of HP through the end of 2020 in an advisory role. Shane also serves on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. He lives in Portland, OR. Glenn Petersen '84-1149 was named to Insurance Business America's Top Specialist 2020 List. This annual award recognizes special brokers who are proven leaders in their field and serve as valuable resources for retail brokers seeking expert insurance advice for their clients' unique and difficult-to-place risks.
