QUARTZSITE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS As of December 1st, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services, La Paz County has seen 883 cases of COVID-19 coronavirus and 20 deaths. La Paz Regional Hospital is tak- ing steps to limit the spread of the coronavirus while continuing to provide care for those in need. All hospital departments and clinics remain open. Staff closely moni- tor all developments with COVID- 19 and are in regular contact with local, state and national agencies involved with combating the virus, continually adjusting practices and implementing recommendations as new medical updates and treat- ments are initiated. The hospital, clinics, urgent care, ERs and all outpatient services are available during this challenging time of increased coronavirus cases. As so often heard, the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones is to wash your hands frequently, wear a mask, and social distance. With the uptick in cases in Oc- tober and November, the hospital has again implemented measures to protect patients, visitors and staff: 1. The only public entry to the main hospital is through the front lobby. The surgery door is an exit only door at this time. 2. Patient visiting hours are limited to 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Only one per- son may visit a hos- pitalized patient at any one time. Ex- ceptions may be made for critical patients, patients needing caregivers, and children less than 15 years of age, depending on hospital capacity and current COVID conditions. 3. For outpatient services, includ- ing Emergency, Urgent Care, Physi- cal Therapy, X-ray, Lab, Surgery and Cardiopulmonary, one person may accompany the patient if needed. 4. COVID-19 coronavirus rapid testing has been moved from the Lobby to outside in the Serenity Garden, to the left of the main en- trance. Groups with over 10 persons should call 928-669-7300 for an appointment. According to Kevin Brown, CEO, "Our communities can be proud of all the many healthcare workers and essential service workers, and their collaborative, caring spirit. Know- ing that COVID-19 will be with us for the foreseeable future, we re- main deeply committed to provid- ing the safest possible environment for your health care" D & B 25 TONS OF LEATHER! 205 W.
