Join Us for Beta Beta's Centennial Celebration We are excited to honor 100 years of Alpha Phi at Michigan State during our centennial celebration on October 7-9, 2022. Events for the weekend include a welcome event, Homecoming parade, on-campus tailgate, MSU vs. Wisconsin Homecoming football game, and a gala. Want to be a part of the planning for this fun-filled weekend? Please contact Centennial Celebration Chairwoman Melissa Wagasy '99 at melissawagasy@icloud.com. Alumnae News Pam Marsh Frucci '52 shares that on Grandparents Day in 2019, the children's book she wrote with her 7-year-old granddaughter, who is now 21, was performed by the Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center in Trenton as a musical: A Visit to My Great, Great Grandpa. The audience was filled with grandparents and grandchildren. She is hoping it will be performed every Grandparents Day since it encourages grandchildren to interview their older relatives and write their life story for future generations. Pam lives in Grosse Ile, Mich. Email: jpfrucci@yahoo.com Sally Schrader Stoll '59 has three grown children, Nancy, Ryan, and Tish, and six grandchildren (four boys and two girls). Her granddaughter, Maggie, is an Alpha Phi at Santa Clara University in California. Sally and her husband have been married for 60 years and live in Lake Bluff, Ill. Email: alamanb@aol.com Bev Shannon McIntyre '62 recently retired and is working on the next chapter in her life. She and her husband, Ed, hope to be selling their home and downsizing soon. She will always remember her Alpha Phi days. Bev lives in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Email: bevmcintyre@comcast.net Carol Hemstreet Heaphy '71 is the chairwoman of her village's beautification committee. It is one of 17 villages in Carriage Park in Hendersonville, N.C. She's also a member of the Carriage Park grounds committee. Email: ckheaphy@gmail.com Patty Burlin Kennedy '75 retired from the U.S. Senate staff in 2009 after 23 years. She served as a professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and as a caseworker and service academy liaison for now- retired U.S. Senator John Warner. During those years, she volunteered for several animal charities and became a guide dog puppy raiser. A book she wrote about that experience, Through Otis' Eyes, was published in 1997, followed by another about her golden retriever, Bailey Bymyside, in 2000. Her strong interest in animal assisted therapy and the use of dogs to help people with disabilities led her to work with a therapeutic service dog training program serving recovering warriors and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In 2011, she helped found a nonprofit to support that program and to provide services at additional military and veteran treatment facilities. Since 2016, she has been focusing on family needs and contemplating a few more book projects. Patty has been married to Kevin since 1983, and they have two grown children. She lives in Vienna, Va.
