The Ivy 3 New members Faith Dallo '20 and Grace Flynn '20. I t is hard to believe how much has changed for Beta Beta since starting 2020 strong with an award-winning weekend at Leadership Conference in January in Los Angeles. Beta Beta was riding high after winning awards for most improved in harm reduction and safety, outstanding performance in formal recruitment, and most improved chapter, and it carried over into February with a wonderful Red Dress Gala at MAC Marriot in East Lansing. Red Dress Gala was so much fun, consisting of the silent and live auctions, photo booths, pop-up boutiques, fundraiser games, appetizer and cocktail hour, and most importantly raising about $15,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation. As we all know, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March drastically changed how we have operated as a sisterhood for the remainder of 2020. However, it has been incredible to see how sisters have taken all of the changes in stride to best support each other. The Executive Board organized several virtual activities to keep sisters connected for the end of the spring semester and summer. While sisters were thrilled to return to 616 M.A.C. for the fall semester, we still utilized many of those virtual activities so we could safely social distance and stay healthy. I want to give a special thanks to Tessa Moran '18 for leading weekly Zoom workouts, Lizzy Mulroy '18 for sharing yummy recipes for sisters to enjoy, and Demi Anastasiou '19 for creating fun and informative newsletters. Getting to spend extra time with our families before coming back to campus in the fall was a blessing in disguise, and we are excited about spending more time with them during the holidays. The unexpected time away from each other made all sisters that much more thankful for our special sisterhood. We hope you and your families have remained safe and healthy during the pandemic and are excited to see you all when it is safe to do so. WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS Left: Bailey Swanson '18, Kalie Rubey '18, Kelsey Stern '18, and Taylor Stern, Gamma Alpha '18, take a trip to Kelsey's hometown of Tustin, California, in October. One perk of classes being online has been taking trips home with their sisters. Sisters have made sure to wear masks at all times when they have been to places where they can't social distance. Right: Georgia Randels '18 is one of many sisters who felt empowered by Alpha Phi when it came to exercising her right to vote.
