"These #COVID19 mitigation ef- forts are essential to protecting our healthcare and education profes- sionals and institutions, including our students and families," she said in a tweet Monday afternoon. Governor Ducey has not held a news conference for nearly 3 weeks, instead relying on recorded mes- sages and social media. Quartzsite Town Council voted to require face coverings on all Town properties during a Special Meeting on November 4, 2020. The meeting was held via Zoom. Council approved renewing and re- vising the COVID-19 -Emergency Proclamation, which was originally adopted on March 23, 2020, but sunseted after 60 days. The renewal will remain in effect until repealed by the Town Council. The procla- mation was unanimously approved to require face coverings at Town facilities. The Council also approved to strongly recommend face cover- ings be used by the general public when in other public places. The proclamation includes: "because available data indicates that the rate of transmission of CO- VID-19 on both the national and state levels is increasing, the Town Council desires to renew that Emer- gency Proclamation; and WHEREAS, the Town Manager has implemented safety measures for employees of the Town at Town Hall and other Town facili- ties; and WHEREAS, the Town Council be- lieves that additional measures should be taken to protect Town staff due to the spread of COVID- 19. That all persons entering Town Hall and other Town facilities and all persons using the Town's transit system are required to wear a face covering; and 3. That as used herein, a face cover- ing means material that covers the nose and mouth which can either be secured to the head with ties or straps or wrapped around the lower portion of the face; face coverings may be made from materials such as cotton, silk, or linen, or be a sur- gical mask, but a facecovering that incorporates a one-way valve is not permitted; and 4. That the Town Council strongly recommends that face coverings be used by the general public when in other public places; and 5. That all provisions of the Emer- gency Proclamation adopted on March 23, 2020, as revised herein, shall remain in effect until repealed by the Town Council."
