FLORIDA EPSILON s FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY s SIGMA PHI EPSILON Fall 2020
F
rom the 10th anniversary of Florida
Epsilon's refounding to the opening of
the new Chapter House, our brotherhood
has so much to celebrate this fall. SigEp's
resurgence at Florida State has been fueled by
undergraduates and alumni alike, but we can't
be complacent. As Tom Bell '76 mentioned
at the Chapter House ribbon cutting ceremony
in August, Florida Epsilon is about to enter
the red zone when it comes to our $1 million
capital campaign. It's going to take a team
effort to find the end zone.
Thanks to the generous contributions from
114 brothers and friends of the Chapter,
we've raised more than $795,000 toward the
campaign goal. As Florida Epsilon builds a
winning tradition in Tallahassee, let's draw
some inspiration from FSU coaching legend
Bobby Bowden to reach the $1 million
mark and secure financial stability for our
brotherhood. Coach Bowden once said, "Son,
you've got a good engine, but your hands
aren't on the steering wheel." We can relate to
this quote in that SigEp's values have given us
a good engine to succeed in many endeavors
since our time at FSU, but it's up to us to
grab the steering wheel to finish off Florida
Epsilon's drive with a touchdown.
If you missed the ribbon cutting ceremony,
we encourage you to watch the video of it
on Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni (Florida State
University) – Florida Epsilon Facebook page.
The video includes a virtual tour of Florida
Epsilon's new home and shows that SigEp has
firmly cemented its prestigious place
on campus.
There's no doubt that this campaign has
centered on virtue, diligence, and brotherly
love, and those who have contributed clearly
understand that. It goes without saying that the
years of work put into planning and building
the Chapter House have been a diligent process
led by men of virtue. The goal has not only
been to build Florida Epsilon a beautiful new
Chapter House, but to create an environment of
brotherly love that stands the test of time.
By giving to the campaign today, you will be
a key playmaker in crunch time for Florida
Epsilon. Please reflect on how SigEp has
shaped your life. It's time to provide those
same opportunities to our undergraduate
brothers and future SigEp members by
finishing Florida Epsilon's campaign in the
end zone.
