Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at Purdue University

Barbara Brown Gesse '63 entered Chapter Eternal on December 28, 2019. Her husband, Dennis,
was an Alpha Gamma Rho, whose fraternity house was next to the ΑΧΩ house on University
Street in 1963. He saw her through the window, and they were married in June of 1966, just
after she graduated. She was smart, a Mortar Board member and beautiful. She is the first of
her member class to pass away. Her class sent Dennis an arrangement of carnations—the ΑΧΩ
flower. Barbara and Dennis were married for 53 years, and she was a major part of his life and his
success. "You can be proud of your Alpha Chi sister," Dennis shared. Barbara was a resident of
Greensboro, N.C.

Jennifer P. Harpenau '86 and her husband, Gary, celebrated the birth of their second
grandson, Jackson. They can't wait to spend more time with Jackson and their 2-year-old
grandson, Grayson. Jennifer and Gary moved to South Bend to be close to their sons, sons'
wives, and their grandsons. Their daughter, Olivia, is a pediatric nurse at Riley Children's
