Virtual recruitment was a brand-new experience for us all this year, and it was nerve-wracking to enter such an important event without prior foundational knowledge to guide us. Our Pi Chapter values shone brightly as sisters cultivated an atmosphere that was supportive, uplifting, and inviting to potential new members. Recruitment was an overwhelming success, and we owe so much gratitude to our amazing membership vice president, Lacey Jessen '17. We added 50 new sisters, exceeding Panhellenic totals and filling an entire pledge class. The same passion and enthusiasm from previous years was still evident, despite the virtual environment. The new members were initiated on October 11, which was also a virtual event; this is truly a historic year for us all. Chapter life has changed in many ways this semester, as health and safety have become our main priority. Sisters connect through virtual events, go out for coffee in small groups, and continue to seek authentic relationships, regardless of the location. The authenticity and resilience of our members have made a statement on our campus this year, and the women of Gamma Phi Beta hold strongly to our values of sisterhood, regardless of our trials.
