Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested Alumni News Alan Jones '86 and his wife, Leslie, take their mission as agriculturists seriously. They are proud to provide nutritious food for consumers, especially in these turbulent times. The farm, located in Manatee County, Fla., produces potatoes, green beans, and citrus. Among the awards they have won recently are the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner's Environmental Leadership Award and the national 4R Nutrient Advocate Award. The farm also won the American Vegetable Grower Achievement Award. Will Wellman '01 was ordained at ceremonies held at his home parish, Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, in Tampa. He serves as the director of Adult Faith Formation for his church. Will has a bachelor of science in environmental horticulture operations from the University of Florida and a master's in forestry from the University of Kentucky. He earned his master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Outside the office, Will can be found kayaking, reading poetry, or working on The Eco Theo. He lives in St. Petersburg, Fla. Run by the UF Student Government, the main goal is to revolutionize the term "community service" by giving back to the entire Gainesville community instead of just one aspect of it. ATΩ teamed up with Tri Delta and volunteered with the Alachua county schools to clean up playgrounds around Gainesville n Total Hours: 195 Dance Marathon (Spring 2019) One of the biggest philanthropic events at the University of Florida is Dance Marathon, an event where students stand for 26.2 hours to raise money for Shand's Children's Hospital. Pete Staviski '16 led ATΩ to a new record number of dancers in the event, working tirelessly all year preparing for the event and soliciting interest in Alpha Omega. This year's Dance Marathonwas canceled due to the COVID-19 virus; however, dancers and participants like Pete, ATΩ, and fraternities and sororities around campus still raised a record $3,026,420 this spring. n Total Hours: 939.2 (without dance hours) ATΩ at UF participated in The Big Event in spring 2019. ATΩ Service Projects ALPHA OMEGAN THE Clay Townsend '74, Tommy Townsend '16, Johnny Townsend '13, Clay Townsend Jr. '11, and Keith Wedgworth '95 during Florida-Georgia week last fall.
