The Alpha Omegan p. 2 www.ufato.org Occupancy Logistics • No bedroom occupancy restrictions as each bedroom is a single room. • No more than 1.5x common room occupancy at once time. • Space out meals into 30 minute intervals arranged by academic year (senior, junior, etc.). - Each member's temperature will be taken before gaining access to the dining room. If a temperature of 100.4 or above is indicated, that member will not be allowed to enter the dining room and must leave the house. • Spatial separation includes ensuring that all living room furniture is at least six feet apart. • Guests are limited—only one guest per member at any given time. - A sign-in sheet will be located at the front door for guests to fill out at each visit. Day-to-Day Management • The following areas will be cleaned daily, at a minimum: bathrooms, high touch surfaces (doorknobs, handles, light switches, faucets, toilets, showers, shared electronic equipment, and table surfaces) as recommended by the CDC. • Deep cleaning of furniture and other similar areas will be cleaned weekly (every Sunday) as recommended by the CDC and county guidelines. • Hand sanitizer is available at every entrance; hand sanitizer and wipes are in every common room. • PPE supplies are being purchased to the extent that market conditions and inventory level allows—our director and the executive board will handle order supplies as needed. • Disinfecting systems have been purchased for our house cleaning staff for weekly use according to the CDC and county guidelines. • All public areas of the house have been clearly marked to promote social distancing. • Every member is required to wear masks at all times when outside of their bedroom. • Members will be required to provide their own masks and will be denied entrance to the Chapter house if they do not have a mask. • Any member who does not follow the recommended CDC and county guidelines will not have access to the Chapter house. • Visual reminders of the Wellness Pledge will be posted at the entrance to the house. These include health screening questions and reminders that masks and social distancing are required to enter the Chapter house. COVID-19 Testing and Quarantining Accommodations • If any members test positive for COVID-19, it will be communicated to membership as much as HIPAA regulations allow. • If a member is awaiting a COVID-19 test result and shows symptoms of the virus, they will be required to find different housing, preferably on-campus quarantine housing. • If a member is awaiting a COVID-19 test result and does not show symptoms, they will not be allowed to be inside the house. If they live in-house, their room will be properly sanitized, and they will be required to wear a mask inside the Chapter house at all times. • It's the member's responsibility to find housing if quarantine is necessary. • The University has a quarantine facility that is available on a first– come, first-served basis. • If any member of the Chapter tests positive for COVID-19, the Chapter house will be closed to all non-residents until cleaning is complete. AlphA OmegA ChApter's COVID-19 ACtIOn plAn Year in review I n a year cut short by the arrival of COVID-19, the Alpha Omega Chapter has demonstrated leadership on the national stage, earning the chapter's 17th True Merit Award. In so doing, Alpha Omega added 25 new members to their roster in the spring, blowing away their goal of 13. The Chapter also raised more than $3,000 with the second annual Tau-Tug Carnival. Overall, the Chapter shattered its philanthropy goal for the year by $5,000. Along the way Alpha Omega actives secured excellence recognition in scholarship, recruitment, communications, and philanthropy. Most notably, the Chapter won the ATO Good Samaritan Elevate Award with a stellar 4,700 hours of community service for the year despite the interrupted spring 2020 semester, with more than 1,000 hours earned planning the campus signature event, Dance Marathon. Speaking at the first-ever Virtual Alpha Tau Omega National Congress, National President Howe Wallace '74 took special pride in recognizing his Chapter. ATΩ Brothers Demonstrate What It Means to Be Men of True Merit at UF B eing from out of state and not knowing much about Greek Life in general, I can definitely say I found a great place with spectacular men here at ATΩ. Alpha Omega Accolades Our Chapter is filled with many different personalities, involvement in various activi- ties, and a variety of academic paths. We are proud to announce that we won our third- straight True Merit Award at the Virtual Alpha Tau Omega National Congress. Our Chapter also had an overall GPA of 3.23 last year. Keeping the Brotherhood Safe and Strong COVID-19 has taken its toll on everyone in many different ways, but we are working together to make this another great and successful year. We organized a plan this sum- mer to keep our house running in the safest manner possible. I look forward to a sensa- tional senior year, and I am excited to carry on our undergraduate-alumni relations. Love and Respect, Dominick Macolino '17 Worthy Master dmacolino57@gmail.com
