Jannene Foust Clark-Welchons '56 moved to Leawood, Kan., in August 2019. She loves Leawood and her daughter, Deana Mohlstrom Beardmore '79, also lives there. Jannene has reconnected with some of her Chi Omega sisters in the area, but the coronavirus is now keeping them apart. She is hoping for a better 2021 and an end to the pandemic. They're mourning the recent passing of Jacque Glover Alstatt '57. Sandra lives in Lawrence, Kan. Email: samat3116aol.com Barb McGuire '77 is somewhat retired, but always busy with organic farming, her horses, writing a book, and volunteer work at polls, her church, and in the community. She lives in Mulvane, Kan., and encourages any sisters in the Wichita area to connect with her. Laura Boyd Ortner '98 started her own business as a fertility coach, helping women who are struggling with infertility. She lives in Scottsdale, Ariz. Jacque was born November 12, 1938, in Salina, Kan., to Herbert and Marjorie (Housel) Glover. She graduated from KSU with an education degree. Kathy Boomer Palmer '73 peacefully entered Omega Chapter with family and friends by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 19, 1954, in Portis, Kan., as the fourth of six children to Warren and Viola Boomer. After graduating from K-State, Kathy moved to Kansas City to become an elementary P.E. teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District. She enjoyed teaching, playing, and watching sports. Upon moving to K.C., Kathy's strong faith led her to join Westwood Lutheran Church. She was the children's choir director for many years, carrying out her passion for music and teaching. Following Westwood's closing in 2011, she joined Village Presbyterian Church. Being a care receiver through their Stephen Ministry program, led her to become a Stephen Minister herself. Robyn Schmale Bider '75 entered Omega Chapter at 63 on April 14, 2020, in Topeka, Kan., following a 19-year battle with breast cancer. Robyn and her husband, Bill, shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. Their son, Lucas, is a medical doctor in Little Rock, Ark., with his wife Erin, who is also a doctor. Robyn was born in Garden City, Kan., to Frank and Marilyn Schmale. Robyn attended Kansas State University in Manhattan and received a sign language interpreter degree from Johnson County Community College one month before Lucas was born in 1990. Robyn worked for the Kansas Department of Social Services, as a substitute school teacher, and a personal aide to two handicapped individuals. Lucinda J. Erickson '09 entered Omega Chapter on August 23, 2020. She was the daughter of Jill Tobler Erickson '74. ALUMNAE NEWS Mary Brewer Thomas '50 shares that her mother, Florence Mitchell Brewer 1915, was a founding sister at Kappa Alpha. She gave to the Emergency Chapter Housing campaign and Kappa Alpha's previous campaign. Mary and her husband, Kenton, have lived in Overland Park, Kan., for the past 26 years, and their two children also live there. Their daughter was a Chi Omega at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
