For the second straight Convention, Kappa Alpha was named a Chapter of Excellence. We are already excited about the challenge of making it three in a row at the 2022 Convention. Kappa Alpha has had a strong start to the fall semester thanks to bringing in another amazing new member class. Recruitment Chairwoman Cody Ballou '19 led Kappa Alpha through an unpredictable couple of weeks of recruitment, which was unexpectedly moved to an all-virtual format via Zoom. Rounds were held over two separate weeks. Our hard work paid off, as we welcomed 44 new members to Kappa Alpha. "Although Bid Day looked different this year, we still made the best out of it. We celebrated by having a 'drive-thru' Bid Day. The new members came to get their Bid Day bundles as we cheered them on outside," New Member Educator Tristan Rios '19 said. "Our new members got dressed up and took pictures with each other in small groups. We are so excited to welcome the 2020 new members into Chi Omega and can't wait to see the amazing things they bring to Kappa Alpha." We are participating in the continuous open bidding process in hopes of bringing more Hooties home to the nest. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this organization after seeing how devoted our Chapter members are. Lovingly Yours in Chi Omega, Cara Unruh '18 Chapter President (620) 682-0508 | ckunruh@ksu.edu Kappa Alpha Recognized as Chapter of Excellence at Convention Momentum Builds for Our Sisterhood Following Stellar Recruitment Sisters from the 2019 new member class during recruitment work week. The theme for the final day was Southern Belle. Sisters from the 2018 and 2019 member classes who were part of our management team this year for recruitment. With all of the changes, these women helped create all of the videos needed for recruitment. New members Taylor Sonner and Lauren Raubenstine open their Bid Day cards together.
