Have You Added Your Name to the List? Works. IIWI built the Middle East's first pipe fabrication facility in the United Arab Emirates in 1996 and helped rebuild the water system in Iraq after the Gulf War. IIWI is in the relation business, and he learned the importance of relationships at Texas Alpha. In Thomas' "free time," he has remained active physically and intellectually. He has an 8 handicap in golf, won a Gold NASTAR in skiing, and has run a marathon. Thomas' dedication to serving others has also been on display through his work with the Dallas County Medical Society, SMU Town & Gown Club, University Park Finance Advisory Committee, Dallas Knife and Fork Club, and several nonprofit organizations. The leadership skills Thomas honed at Texas Alpha have truly shown the impact SigEp has worldwide. Thomas has been a loyal supporter over the years with the chapter's fundraising efforts to ensure that Texas Alpha will always be committed to Building Balanced Men. His most recent gift was in memory of one of his roommates and very close friends, Don McCleary '71. "Among other things, he was our chapter president, SigEp grand president, and got the Order of the Golden Heart. He was instrumental in revising SigEp's new member education process, and instituting leadership training for folks in the chapter," Thomas said. "That gift was designated to the local chapter and also supports the McCleary Leadership Fund nationally to help kids who otherwise couldn't get leadership training from SigEp leadership conferences. That was my goal and that's why I tend to give." You can connect with Thomas at thomas.russell@earthlink.net. Thomas "Doc" Russell '71 (Continued from page 1) I n this year of the reschedule, the Texas Alpha 90th Anniversary Celebration was no exception. And this fall is not looking to be any more certain as it applies to large gatherings like ours. Considering the uncertainty at the fraternity and university levels as it pertains to large group gatherings, our plan is to gather in the spring of 2021 to celebrate our 90th, even it is a year late. Please check your email and mailbox for more details. We look forward to getting together when circumstances permit. 90TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION RESCHEDULED FOR 2021
